History of Vehari, Pakistan

The history of Vehari dates back to around 500 years ago. The origin of the city is associated with Mian Muhammad Shah. Mian Muhammad Shah was the King of Mianwali (Sindh) at that time. He built a fort on a place called Qila-e-Sufa which was situated on the side of the river Indus and named it after himself.

The history of Vehari begins when Mian Muhammad Shah died in 1632. His sons and grandsons were divided into five groups. After Mian Muhammad Shah, his successor was his son, Mian Feroz Khan. His successors were Muhammad Muinul-Mulk, Mian Muhammad Azam and Muhammad Zain-ul-Abidin.

At that time, the most prominent families of the area were the Barakzai and Ghazni. The Barakzais were the kings of the Sindh and Punjab region and the Ghaznavis ruled the eastern regions of Pakistan. At that time, these two families were very influential and powerful and the rulers of the two countries were closely related to each other.

When the Barakzai family was ruling in the area, it was known as the Mughal dynasty of Sindh. The Mughals ruled the entire Indian subcontinent until 1857. After the death of the Mughal Emperor, the power of the Barakzais started to decline.

The Ghaznavis were the rulers of the eastern region and they also started to rule the southern regions of Sindh. Due to the power of the Barakzais, the Ghaznavis could not stay in the area for a longer time and therefore, they had to take refuge in the western region of Sindh.

In 1709, a group of Ghaznavi refugees settled down in the western region and founded the town of Vehari. The name of the town was ‘Vehri’ which means ‘place of refuge’. The town was named after the place of refuge.

After the formation of the town, the people of the area were under the rule of the Ghaznavi. Later, the Barakzai also came and took control of the area.

The city of Vehari is located in the Sindh province of Pakistan. It is the second largest city in the province. Vehari is also known as the birthplace of the renowned Sufi Saint, Khwaja Bakhsh Nizami.

The city has a rich history and it is an important town in Sindh. It is also considered one of the oldest cities in Pakistan.

Vehari is also known as the place where the famous battle of the Battle of Panipat took place. This battle was fought between the Mughals and the Afghans.

According to the history books, the battle was fought in the year 1526. The Mughals were victorious in the battle and the Afghan rulers were defeated.
