History of Peshawar

Peshawar is located in the northwest of Pakistan, this city is known as the City of Saints. This city is the capital of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

In 1909, the British forces entered Peshawar and started their operations. They demolished the tomb of Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

On 9th December 1915, the battle of Nadir Shah’s Tomb was fought and the British forces were defeated.

The first direct rule in this city was introduced in 1918.

Operation Cyclone was launched in Peshawar on 30th January 1990.

On 2nd February 1992, the massacre of more than 250 people took place at Liaquat Bagh, Peshawar.
